San Antonio's budget proposal for fiscal 2024 includes $438,000 to install a dozen "baby boxes" at fire stations in the city. As of Friday, an amendment to the state's Baby Moses Law will allow the placement of the boxes at fire stations. The law allows the no-questions-asked surrender of an uninjured baby under 60-days-old at a fire station or hospital. Each locking, temperature-controlled box features a silent alarm to notify staff when a baby has been dropped off.
