The Texas Department of Transportation is giving its approval to a plan to place electric vehicle charging stations statewide. The Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance says there are about 215,000 EV drivers in Texas. The federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act awarded TxDOT $400 million to help private companies place EV charging stations along major highways and interstates in Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott stated his support for a plan that would enable EV drivers to get from Beaumont to El Paso easily.
