A priest at St. Monica's Church in Converse is off the job after being accused of sexual abuse of a child. A letter from San Antonio Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller that was read at the church during Sunday mass gave details about the claims against Father Alejandro Ortega and his removal from ministry. The letter said the child reported the inappropriate contact to the parish, who notified the teen's parents and the Bexar County D-A's Special Crimes Division.
