An amendment to the state's Baby Moses Law will soon allow the placement of "baby boxes" at fire stations. The law allows the no-questions-asked surrender of an uninjured baby under 60 days old at a fire station or hospital. As of September 1st, Texas fire stations will be allowed to add baby boxes. Each locking, temperature-controlled box features a silent alarm to notify staff when a baby has been dropped off. It will also provide a packet of info about resources for whoever leaves the baby.
