The Texas power grid has held up under record summer heat. But there is a warning about next week. The Electric Reliability is out with what they call a Weather Watch for Sunday and Monday. This is due to forecasted high temperatures and the potential for lower reserves. ERCOT says that grid conditions are expected to be normal. No rolling brownouts are predicted and there is not a call for conservation.

ERCOT set a new, unofficial August and all-time peak demand record of 83,593 MW on August 1. ERCOT’s 6-day Supply and Demand dashboard is showing the possibility of new all-time peak demand records next week. The dashboards will update in real-time as the week progresses. There is currently enough capacity to meet forecasted demand. This summer, ERCOT set 7 new all-time peak demand records. Last year, ERCOT set 11 new peak demand records, surpassing 80 GWs for the first time ever.
