Max Scherzer allowed three runs over six innings as the Rangers beat the White Sox 5-3 in Arlington. Scherzer struck out nine in his Texas debut and improved to 10-and-4 on the mound. Will Smith capped off a dominant showing from the bullpen with his 19th save of the season. Marcus Semien and Mitch Garver each homered in the fourth inning as the Rangers overcame an early three-run deficit. Texas improved to 63-and-46. The Rangers will host the Miami Marlins tonight. Left-hander Jordan Montgomery is slated to make his Texas debut on the mound.
