Texas Senator Ted Cruz is among Republicans slamming President Biden's order allowing the Pentagon to mobilize thousands of reserve troops for duty in Europe. Cruz called the move "reckless and dangerous," arguing the president is threatening to put the U.S. military in a "shooting war with Russia." The executive order allows the military to mobilize up to three-thousand military reservists for duty in Europe. It's not clear when the Defense Department will send additional reservists to Europe under the new authority. Pentagon officials said the move would not increase the overall level of US troops in Europe, which now stands around 80-thousand.
