Astros Defeat Rockies In Series Opener

The Astros took down the visiting Colorado Rockies 4-1 at Minute Maid Park on Independence Day. Houston rookie shortstop Grae Kessinger launched his first career home run with a solo shot in the third inning to get the scoring started. Mauricio Dubon, Corey Julks and Chas McCormick each drove-in a run in Houston's third straight win. Astros starter Brandon Bielak earned the win after tossing seven scoreless innings to help his team improve to 48-and-38. The Astros will send right-hander J.P. France to the hill against Colorado this afternoon.
