Kickoff Times Set For Some Texas Longhorns Home Games

The kickoff times and network selections for Texas Football's 2023 home games versus Rice, Wyoming and Texas Tech were announced on Wednesday.

The season and home opener against Rice on Saturday, Sept. 2 will air on FOX and kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT, and Texas' game against Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 16 will air on Longhorn Network at 7 p.m. CT. The Longhorns will conclude the regular season slate at home against Texas Tech on Friday, Nov. 24 with the game kicking off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.

Steve Sarkisian's third season as head coach at Texas will begin with a non-conference game against Rice, the 97th all-time meeting between the schools. Texas has won 15 consecutive games against the Owls and leads the all-time series 74-21-1, including a 44-8 record at home.

Non-conference action will conclude when the Longhorns host Wyoming in the sixth meeting between the two programs, with the previous five having been won by Texas. Four of those have been played in Austin, including the matchups in 1974, 1978, 2010 and 2012. The lone contest at Wyoming came in 2009.

Texas and Texas Tech will square off for the 73rd time in series history and 40th time in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns own an all-time record of 54-18 against the Red Raiders, including a 32-7 mark when the teams meet in Austin.
