Today is the one-year anniversary of the nation's deadliest human smuggling incident. More than 50 illegal immigrants were found dead in the back of a big rig that had been parked on a side street in San Antonio. Rows of wooden crosses now mark their final resting spot. An investigation found the migrants were locked in the sweltering tractor trailer with no access to food or air conditioning. Most were dead by the time authorities found them. Two men alleged to have been involved in the smuggling remain in federal custody.
