Framber Valdez outdueled Justin Verlander to lead the Astros over the Mets 4-2 at Minute Maid Park. Valdez totaled nine strikeouts and allowed two earned runs through eight innings to earn his seventh win of the season. Ryan Pressly recorded his 13th save as the Astros put an end to their five-game losing skid. Alex Bregman hit his 10th home run of the season and tied Jose Altuve for a team-high two RBI to help Houston improve to 40-and-34. The Astros will send right-hander Cristian Javier to the hill for the series finale against New York this afternoon.
