The Astros failed to sweep the visiting Washington Nationals. Houston fell to Washington 4-1 in 10 innings in their series finale at Minute Maid Park. Yainer Diaz drove in Houston's sole run on an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extra innings. Cristian Javier delivered six scoreless frames in his start, while Phil Maton was charged the loss after allowing three runs in the 10th. The Astros are second in the AL West at 39-and-30. They will begin a three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds tonight, with right-hander J.P. France slated to start.
