Accused Murderer Of Trinity Student Convicted Of Aggravated Assault

A man accused of killing a Trinity University student awaits sentencing after being found guilty of aggravated assault. Mark Howerton was charged with murdering his 19-year-old girlfriend Cayley Mandadi in 2017. The jury returned the guilty verdict for the lesser charge on Friday. Howerton's first trial in 2019 ended in a mistrial when the jury failed to reach a verdict. Howerton faces up to 20-years in prison when he's sentenced later this month.
