San Antonio City Council is looking at the possibility of raising the trash pickup fee next year. Council members on Thursday discussed the Solid Waste Department's $9 million budget deficit. To close the gap, the council says it would have to raise rates, reduce services, or both. So far there are no details about when the rate may go up, or by how much. A 25% increase to both the solid waste fee and the environmental fee would reportedly raise only about $3 million.
