The Justice Department has reached a settlement with the families who sued over the Sutherland Springs church massacre. A total of 26-people were killed in Texas. Another 22 were hurt. The gunman had served in the Air Force, and there was an arrest record. But that information was not uploaded to the federal gun buying database. It allowed the him to buy the murder weapon. A federal judge ruled that the United States was liable for damages. The $144.5 million settlement stops the appeals process.
