Former President Donald Trump will be holding his first rally of the 2024 presidential campaign today. Trump will speak in Waco, Texas, as a grand jury in Manhattan considers his role in an alleged hush money payment made to an adult film star. About 15,000 people are expected to attend the rally at the Waco Regional Airport, which begins at 2 p.m. local time. Trump is expected to take the stage at 5 p.m.
"We don't often get presidential level candidates coming through, but certainly puts the whole county abuzz and we are expecting a very big event," said local GOP leader Brad Holland. "If you are going to win a Republican primary in Texas, you're going to do so in the red areas of Texas and there are very few areas in more red than Waco."
