President Biden is offering federal help as Mississippi declares a disaster following a deadly tornado outbreak. At least 23 people are dead and dozens injured after strong thunderstorms spawned at least a dozen tornadoes across the South last night.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says dozens of people were also injured by the tornado, and at least four people are reported missing. Lots of damage is being reported, especially in Rolling Fork, a town of about two-thousand in the Mississippi Delta. Tens of thousands were still without power across Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.

In a White House statement, Biden said he has reached out to state lawmakers -- including Governor Tate Reeves who declared a state of emergency -- to express his condolences and offer federal support for "as long as it takes."
