Austin-based job site Indeed.com is laying off 2,200 employees, or about 15% of its global workforce. The company, one of Austin's biggest tech employers, made the announcement on Wednesday. CEO Chris Hyams says the job cuts will affect every team, function, level, and region of Indeed's worldwide operations. Indeed is. Hyams says the cuts are prompted by a slowdown in the overall job market and reduced demand for the company's technology. He says he'll detail further cost-saving measures today.
