Astros' Jose Altuve Undergoes Thumb Surgery

The Astros will be without their star second baseman for the start of the season. General manager Dana Brown told the media that Jose Altuve underwent surgery on his fractured right thumb and he will not resume baseball activities for "at least two months." The 32-year-old was injured after getting hit by a pitch while playing for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic last weekend. The eight-time All-Star is entering the sixth year of a seven-year deal that he signed in 2018.
