CPS Energy Aims For Another Rate Increase In 2024

CPS Energy is looking to raise its gas and electric rates again, only a year after the previous rate increase. CFO Cory Kuchinsky says a rate hike early next year, and another in 2026, are part of the utility's plans. Kuchinsky says the tentative amount of both increases is 5.5%, but may turn out to be different. A year ago today, the utility's board of trustees and the San Antonio City Council approved a rate hike of nearly 4%, CPS's first rate increase in eight-years.
