Bexar County Chief Public Defender Michael Young plans to resign as of February 1st. Young sent a resignation letter sent to county commissioners and then-County Judge Nelson Wolff on December 27th. He stated that it was time for him to pursue other interests. The public defender's office provides legal representation to defendants who can't afford an attorney. Young had served in the position since 2015.
