A Texas state senator is characterizing the police response to the Robb Elementary School shooting as "cowardice." Sen. Roland Gutierrez is a Democrat who represents Uvalde, and he made his remarks in Washington, D.C., during a Thursday hearing of the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. Democrats on the subcommittee called for more gun control, and Republicans accused them of trying to undermine Second Amendment rights.
