The entire city of Houston is under a boil-water notice. Houston Public Works made the announcement on Sunday after water pressure dropped below minimum standards following a power outage at its main water plant. More than two-million residents are told not to drink the water without boiling it for two minutes. The notice is expected to be lifted on Tuesday. The Houston ISD has canceled all classes and closed all offices today as a result of the notice.

Governor Greg Abbott is sending all necessary resources to Houston to deal with a boil-water notice. At Abbott's direction, the Texas Division of Emergency Management is working with Houston officials to address all the city's resulting needs. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is ready to review water sample results and offer any necessary technical assistance. The boil-water notice is expected to be lifted on Tuesday.
