Astros All-Star pitcher Justin Verlander is the winner of the 2022 American League Cy Young Award. The Baseball Writers Association of America made the announcement Wednesday night on MLB Network. Verlander received 30 first-place votes for 210 total points. Verlander has won the Cy Young Award twice before, making him the 11th MLB pitcher to win it three times. He's the fourth Astros pitcher to win a Cy Young Award, and the first Astro to win it twice. When he first won it in 2011, Verlander was playing for Detroit.
