San Antonio city councilman Clayton Perry is asking for a sabbatical after he was accused of leaving a hit-and-run accident earlier this month. The city council met today to consider a resolution requesting he resign, but Perry said he instead wants to take a sabbatical. "During this time I will be taking the appropriate measures as determined by medical professionals to ensure this will never happen again," said Perry. "I sincerely apologize to the community for not living up to the standards and values you all deserve and I have sworn to uphold." Perry would not answer questions about whether he was drunk the night of the accident. Police body camera footage shows him disoriented and slurring his words in his own back yard. His Jeep, which was involved in the wreck, was still running his driveway, where it had hit the garage door.
