For the second time in franchise history the Houston Astros are World Series champions. The Astros topped the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in Game Six to clinch the title. Yordan Alvarez slugged a go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Houston to the championship. Framber Valdez was credited with the victory after allowing one run over six innings pitched. Zach Wheeler was charged with the loss after allowing two runs over five and a third innings of work. Kyle Schwarber drove in the only run of the game for the Phillies with a solo homer. After 25 years managing in the big leagues, Dusty Baker has finally secured his first ring as a manager.
