A West Side altar is dedicated to the 53 illegal immigrants who died in a human-smuggling attempt in late June. SandraGrace Martínez, a mental health therapist and artist, collected items the victims left where the tractor-trailer was parked on Quintana Road. Their hats and shoes, along with medical equipment used at the scene, are now displayed on an altar in the front yard of Casa Azul on the corner of Buena Vista and Las Moras Street.
