Republicans outraised Democrats this summer in the three South Texas congressional races that the two parties are battling for. New campaign-finance reports say the GOP nominees took in a total of $4.3 million over the past three months, while the Democrats collected $2.4 million altogether. It's Republican Monica De La Cruz facing Democrat Michelle Vallejo in the 15th District, Republican Mayra Flores versus Democrat Vicente Gonzalez in the 34th, and Republican Cassy Garcia facing Democrat Henry Cuellar in the 28th. The predominantly Hispanic area is experiencing a red shift in recent years.
