The Bears defense came up big against the Texans in their 23-20 victory in Chicago. The score was tied 20-20 with just over a minute left when Texans quarterback Davis Mills had his pass tipped at the line of scrimmage and Bears linebacker Roquan Smith came up with the interception. He returned it to Houston's 12-yard line and Cairo Santos nailed the 30-yard, game-winning field goal as time expired. Chicago's Khalil Herbert had a career-high 157 rushing yards to go with two touchdowns after starter David Montgomery left with a leg injury. Texans' safety Jalen Pitre picked off Justin Fields twice, who had a rough day. He completed 8-of-17 passes for 106 yards and was sacked five times. The Bears improved to 2-and-1 on the season while the Texans dropped to 0-2-and-1.
