Puerto Rico is receiving additional federal aid to help with recovery efforts just days after Hurricane Fiona wreaked havoc on the island.
President Biden authorized a disaster declaration before the storm hit Puerto Rico and now says 100% of the funding will be authorized for debris removal, search and rescue, and utility restoration for the whole month.
He made the announcement in New York City, which is home to the largest Puerto Rican population off the island.
Biden was clear to the residents who are still recovering from Hurricane Maria five years later that the U.S. won't walk away.
