Valdez Sets MLB Record As Astros Crush Athletics

The Astros racked up 15 hits in an 11-2 win over the Athletics in Houston. Framber Valdez set a single-season MLB record with his 25th consecutive quality start. Valdez earned his 16th win after giving up two runs in six innings of work. Martin Maldonado went four-for-four with a home run and four RBI, while Yordan Alvarez also drove in four runs. Houston has won seven of its last eight contests. Ken Waldichuk was charged with his second loss after surrendering five runs in two-and-two-thirds innings. Oakland has dropped three of four.
