Mark Mathias mashed a walk-off home run as the Rangers stunned the Athletics 8-7 in Arlington. Mathias helped Texas complete the comeback after trailing 7-2 midway through the fifth inning. He tied the game with a two-run shot in the seventh inning, before ending it with a solo bomb in the ninth. Brock Burke got the win in relief for the Rangers, who improved to 62-and-80. Joel Payamps suffered the loss in relief for Oakland, which fell to 51-and-91. Dermis Garcia homered and drove in four runs in the losing effort.
