Governor Greg Abbott is one of 22 Republican governors who are calling on President Biden to dump his student loan forgiveness plan. Abbott and the others claim that the thousands of dollars in debt relief per student will harm the working class. The governors wrote a letter on Monday that said the cost of the bailout will be passed on to hourly workers without college degrees. The White House insists the plan is necessary because of the soaring cost of a college education and the rising demand for secondary degrees in the job market.
