The Buccaneers kept the Cowboys out of the end zone as Tampa Bay dismantled Dallas 19-3 on Sunday night in Arlington. Linebacker Devin White led the defense with eight tackles and two sacks. Tom Brady threw for 212 yards, one touchdown and a pick in the victory. Leonard Fournette rushed for a game-high 127 yards for the Bucs, who kick off the season 1-and-oh. Dak Prescott completed 14-of-29 passes for 134 yards and an interception, but exited with a thumb injury in the fourth quarter. The Cowboys took an early 3-0 lead, before getting shutout in the final three quarters. Dallas dropped to 0-and-1.

The Cowboys are losing Dak Prescott for "several weeks." The quarterback will have surgery on his right thumb, according to Dallas team owner Jerry Jones. Prescott said he was disappointed to learn the extent of the injury.

Prescott suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter against the Buccaneers and didn't return to the game after heading to the locker room. Jones added that the QB suffered a fracture near the thumb on his throwing hand and did not provide an exact timeline for his return. The Cowboys are expected to start Cooper Rush under center in Week Two against the Bengals.
