Hunter Brown earned his first MLB win as the Astros edged the Rangers 1-0 in Houston. Brown threw six scoreless frames and struck out five in his first start in the big leagues. Martin Maldonado plated the lone run for Houston, which improved to 87-and-48. Rafael Montero notched his 12th save in relief in the victory. Martin Perez suffered the loss after allowing one run over seven innings of work. Texas was held to just three hits as it fell to 58-and-76. The Rangers have lost nine in a row.
