Astros Take Down Rangers In Opener

The Astros delivered the Rangers their third loss in a row after topping Texas 4-2 in their series opener in Arlington. Framber Valdez picked up his 14th win of the year after holding the Rangers to two runs over eight innings pitched. Jose Altuve slugged his 22nd home run of the season with a solo shot in the third inning. Houston is now 83-and-47. Dane Dunning was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs, two of them earned, over five innings of work. Bubba Thompson and Ezequiel Duran went deep in the loss for the Rangers, who fell to 58-and-70.
