Native to the rainforests of Sumatra in Indonesia, the city's first-ever Corpse Flower is set to bloom soon at the San Antonio Zoo. The flower was moved on Friday to a spot near the whooping crane habitat for public viewing. Zoo officials say the Corpse Flower is expected to bloom within the next ten-days. The Titan Arum is a large plant that got the name "Corpse Flower" because it smells like a rotting corpse when it blooms. They can grow to be up to eight feet tall, and the plants generate their own heat, which allows the stench to permeate the air.
