Lackland Put Under Lockdown After Sound Of Shots Near Base

Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland went under lockdown this morning on reports of the sound of possible gunshots in a neighborhood near the base.

General Russ Driggers says someone in a neighborhood fired about six to eight shots onto the base. "In an event like that, we have procedures to follow and so we followed procedures and put the base on lockdown," said Driggers. "At times like these, with events that have been happening recently, we want to take these types of situations very seriously."

Police continue to hunt down the source of the possible shots, but haven't found any victims in that neighborhood.
