Bexar County Commissioners are adopting a property tax exemption of up to 20% of a home's appraised value. Commissioners passed the exemption measure on Tuesday in fulfillment of a promise to provide tax relief. They also approved a $30,000 exemption for homeowners age 65 and older from property taxes levied by the Bexar County Hospital District, also known as University Health. County officials say both new exemptions will apply to 2022 valuations.
