Chas McCormick smashed a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning as the Astros defeated the A's 3-1 in Oakland. McCormick broke a 1-1 tie with a solo shot and finished with three hits in the victory. Rafael Montero got his third win in relief, while Ryan Pressly pitched a clean ninth for his ninth save. Houston has won three straight to improve to 32-and-18. Frankie Montas was dealt his fifth loss, despite giving up two runs in seven innings of work. Cristian Pache plated the lone run for Oakland, which dropped to 20-and-32.
