Yankees Shut Out Rangers In Rubber Match

Nestor Cortes carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning as the Yankees took their rubber match against the Rangers. New York came away with a 1-0 win over Texas in the Bronx. Cortes was pulled with one out in the eighth after allowing one hit and no runs. Anthony Rizzo drove in the only run of the game with an RBI double. Brett Martin was charged with the loss for the Rangers to fall to 0-and-3 on the season. Eli White broke up Cortes' no-hit bid with a single. The Rangers fall to 11-and-16 heading into a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals.
