A burglar is dead after trying to break into a home on the Southeast Side overnight. Police say the man was in the process trying to break into a home near Southside Lions Park when the female homeowner shot him twice. He'd already gotten into the laundry room of the house and was trying to get into the main part of the house when she shot him twice in the chest. She was not injured.
