Senate Approves Bill Suspending Normal Trade Relations With Russia

A bill suspending normal U.S. trade relations with Russia is headed to the House after passage by the Senate. 

The vote was unanimous. Another bill passed by the Senate banning Russian oil imports to the U.S. is also headed to the House. Both measures are a response to Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. 

Before the vote, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called Russia's actions in Ukraine brutal and horrifying.
