More than 20,000 mail-in ballots were rejected in last month's Texas primary election. The Secretary of State's office says over 24-thousand absentee ballots were not accepted, about 12.4% of all ballots sent in the mail. That's a big increase in percentage from the 2020 general election, when the Texas Tribune reports less than 1% of ballots were not counted. This was the first statewide election in Texas since a law was passed last year that added restrictions on mail-in voting.
