Metro Health is initiating the "SA Forward" plan to make sure the city's public health keeps making progress as the pandemic eases up. City Manager Erik Walsh and other officials announced the plan on Monday afternoon in front of City Hall to mark the start of National Public Health Week. The plan is intended to expand health initiatives through September 2026 in six areas: access to care, data and tech infrastructure, food insecurity and nutrition, mental health, health equity and social justice, and violence prevention.
