A public health rule being used to immediately deport many illegal immigrants is ending in late May. Federal officials made the move official on a conference call with reporters. They say the delay until May 23rd is needed to ramp up a vaccination program for migrants in custody. It also gives the federal government time to make room in holding facilities for an expected flood of asylum-seekers. Officials say they've been surging officials to the border and will be setting up soft-sided facilities along the border to handle asylum claims.
