Less Than 20% Of Texas Voters Participated In Primary

Less than twenty-percent of Texas voters took part in the primary earlier this month. According to the Secretary of State's office, 17.7% of registered voters participated in the primary, which is almost an 8% decline from two years ago, but a .5% increase from the last midterm primary four years ago. Close to two-thirds of those that voted in this year's primary were Republicans. According to the Texas Tribune, at least 18,000 mail-in ballots were rejected.
