More Than 1,900 Bexar County Mail-In Ballots Rejected Under New Law

More than 1,900 Bexar County residents who voted in last week's primary didn't have their vote counted, mainly due to noncompliance with a new state law. County Elections Administrator Jacquelyn Callanen says last Tuesday's final count of late mail and provisional ballots was 1,929 short of the number of mail ballots the county had received. Most of the rejected ballots hadn't been filled out properly according to a Republican-backed election integrity law the state Legislature passed last year.
