Bat Falcon Spotted In Texas For First-Ever Appearance In U.S.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is reporting that the first bat falcon ever seen in the United States had the good sense to come to Texas. bat falcons live in Mexico and Central America. They aren't endangered or rare, but they've never before been seen in our country. This particular bird of prey turned up in late December at the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge in the town of Alamo, near the southern border.
