Production is underway at Tesla's new Gigafactory in Austin. CEO Elon Musk announced Wednesday that the facility started building Model Y's last month, with a final certification expected soon. Musk said Tesla is still facing production delays due to a semiconductor chip shortage, but the situation is better than it was last year. Tesla still has not announced when the Gigafactory will officially open.
